We've quietly been developing the Costs of War website over the last month in collaboration with Pinpoint Studio. This research, which attempts to tally the expense of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in lives and dollars, was spearheaded by the Watson Institute for International Studies at Brown University and represents the work of 20 academics. We're pretty proud of the work they're doing, and the much-deserved attention that the data in the report is receiving:

Washington Post
Huffington Post
Salon.com
Wired
Reuters: Africa
Reuters: US Edition
Politico
Antiwar Blog
International Business Times
Providence Business News

The site was launched this morning at 1am. You should give it a visit while I go take a nap.

UPDATE (6/30/11): Continuing press coverage.

When your environment is cluttered, the chaos restricts your ability to focus. The clutter also limits your brain’s ability to process information. Clutter makes you distracted and unable to process information as well as you do in an uncluttered, organized, and serene environment.

They’re not earning interest unless people are reading them. Ideas that spread, win.
